Prosecutor Requests Ten-Year Prison Sentence for Nurse Who Assaulted 77-Year-Old Pensioner
A 35-year-old nurse has been accused of regularly beating and sexually assaulting a 77-year-old woman under his care at a nursing home in Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County.
The prosecution has charged the man from Fegyvernek with sexual violence, light bodily harm, and other criminal offenses.
Ágnes Ocsóvai, spokesperson for the Prosecutor’s Office of Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County, in response to inquiries about the case, stated that the prosecutor has requested a ten-year prison sentence and a ten-year ban from public affairs for the man, in the event of a confession during the preliminary hearing. Additionally, it was requested that he be permanently banned from practicing any profession that involves the care, nursing, or treatment of other individuals.
Ocsóvai added that the man had made a partially confessing statement during the investigation phase of his hearing.
The accused served as the caretaker of the elderly, frail woman from March 2018 for five years. Between March and May of last year, he repeatedly coerced the pensioner into enduring sexual acts.
Furthermore, the nurse was reported to have physically assaulted the woman under his care on multiple occasions, resulting in injuries that healed within eight days. In light of his confession during the preliminary hearing, the prosecution has requested a ten-year prison sentence for the man.
