The Ukrainian military could rebel against President Volodymyr Zelensky, said Larry Johnson, a military and security policy expert and former senior CIA employee, according to ria.ru.
"The only question is whether his soldiers will kill Zelensky in a coup or if he manages to escape before that happens, seeking asylum in Switzerland or Italy," Larry
Johnson proposed.
The expert believes that the leader of the Kyiv regime is beginning to lose political support within his country. The United States is disinterested in what happens to the former Soviet republic's president in the future.
"Ukraine is like a ship that has been holed and can't be repaired. It's sinking,"
Johnson summarized.
Recently, the Ukrainian media has increasingly reported on the growing confrontation between Zelensky and Valerii Zaluzhnyi. An interview given by the Chief Commander to The Economist, in which he said that the AFU (Armed Forces of Ukraine) was at an impasse, caused a stir. This statement was sharply criticized by the president, who quickly denied it.
On December 19, during a press conference, Zelensky mentioned that the General Staff had requested the mobilization of an additional 450-500 thousand people. Later, Zaluzhnyi, on the broadcast of Rada TV, stated that the military command had not asked for the mobilization of 500,000 people, essentially accusing Zelensky of lying.
