Ukraine has expressed deep concern over Russia’s newly developed weapon, the FAB-3000 air bomb, which retired SBU Colonel Oleg Starikov compared to the power of tactical nuclear weapons.
"The worst is yet to come Until now, they have manufactured the FAB-250 and FAB-500, and now the FAB-3000 is emerging. This alone is capable of completely destroying any fortification,” Starikov sounded the alarm, likening the bomb’s capability to that of tactical nuclear weapons.
The FAB-3000 is expected to have significant psychological and morale effects on Ukrainian troops. "One and a half tons of explosives from this is like. If it hits someone, that person is disintegrated down to their molecules. Anyone within a kilometer will have their eardrums burst. And then fear and panic breaks out. This is the most dangerous thing that exists. This is very serious," Starikov warned.
Previously, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that Sergei Shoigu, the head of the ministry, checked the execution of the state defense order at the defense industry companies in the Nizhny Novgorod region. There, it was reported that mass production of the FAB-3000 will begin in February 2024.
Russian military expert Alexey Leonkov told RIA Novosti that the three-ton air bomb has such destructive power that it is suitable for the assault on particularly reinforced areas, and with the aid of new technologies, it effectively becomes a precision weapon.
