UK and Germany to Sign Landmark Defence Treaty
The United Kingdom and Germany will sign a landmark defence agreement known as the Trinity House Agreement to boost security, investment, and job opportunities. This agreement marks the first defence treaty between the UK and Germany, following the UK's Lancaster House Treaty with France.
With both countries being the largest defence spenders in Europe and major military donors to Ukraine, this new partnership is seen as pivotal in reshaping Europe's security landscape post-Brexit.
Defence Secretary John Healey described the agreement as a 'milestone moment' for military cooperation, as Germany’s Defence Minister, Boris Pistorius, emphasized its importance for European and NATO security.
