These 10 Summer-Ready Rooms Will Give You Serious Vacation FOMO

These 10 Summer-Ready Rooms Will Give You Serious Vacation FOMO

We're taking you on a virtual escape through our favorite sun-drenched spaces by

Nothing screams summer quite like a splash of color, and the designers who decked out this year’s fourth annual Kips Bay Decorator Show House Palm Beach (on view virtually and in-person through May 9) went all in. From Alexandra Naranjo’s floral fantasia bathroom and Nina Magon’s all-pink boudoir, to Ellen Kavanaugh’s second-story terrace bar that oozes ’70s beach club glamour, the entire 4,400-square-foot villa in West Palm Beach, Florida, gives a playful wink to the carefree days of sunshine season. So if you’re like us and your wanderlust has hit an all-time high, read on as we take you through our 10 favorite spaces in the beachside fantasy home. Consider it an excuse to celebrate high season early-because we could all use some lazy, hazy summer vibes right now.

Nina Magon

For this Italian-contessa-meets-Palm-Beach guest suite, Magon created a custom bed upholstered in velvet by Fabricut and framed in Taga Dekton by Cosentino. The rug is by New Moon, the chandelier is a custom color from Studio M, and the art is from Holden Luntz Gallery. The flat roman shades are from The Shade Store.

Benjamin Deaton

Aptly dubbed “Parlor Games,” Deaton's bright blue and white room is well stocked on fun, with an exquisite hand-painted backgammon set by Nine Fair and a corner bar ready for mixing cocktails with the designer’s signature silver barware. The wallpaper is Phillip Jeffries’s Amalfi Silk, and the pendant is from Dunes & Duchess.

Alexandra Naranjo

A showstopping indigo bathtub from Kohler is just one of the brilliant design aspects of this flora-themed bathroom. The De Gournay paper Naranjo used to wrap the space-shower included!-takes it over the edge in the best way possible.

Harry Heissmann

To make the most of an average hallway between the family room and primary bedroom, Heissmann teamed up with local artist Staszek Kotowski to create a whimsical mural for the long wall, and then took the circus theme a step further with a cheeky fabric valance from Luxury Tents and a built-in bar from the Container Store.

Fernando Wong

For this Old Hollywood–esque pool terrace, Wong took a nod from storied director Cedric Gibbons’s L.A. mansion in all its Art Deco glory. The dining set is Sutherland, and the umbrellas are from Boutique Tents.

Ellen Kavanaugh

For this sprawling balcony space, Kavanaugh drew inspiration from the carefree cabanas of 1970s beach clubs. The brass bar is by Forte Design Studios, and the plaster panel and moldings are from Classic Art Mouldings.

Nicole WhiteWhen

White began creating this custom walk-in closet with the Container Store, her main goal was to showcase the clothing and accessories and to amplify Black creative voices. And from a stunning floor-to-ceiling print by Kabriah Asha to a hand-carved accent chair from Jomo Furniture, White brought her vision to life in the most fashionable way.

Anna Braund

Channeling Marrakech glamour, this breezy loggia feels like a far-off escape. Braund wrapped the space with custom drapes from Sutherland Perennials and added rattan chairs from Bungalow Classic and an antique cherrywood table from Robuck to create an intimate alfresco sitting space.

Lorna Gross

With an element of fantasy in mind, Gross opted for a woodland creature-print wallcovering from Clarke & Clarke for Kravet. Continuing the flora and fauna theme, she added in a pair of animal sculptures from Global Views and dragonfly napkin rings from Kim Seybert.

Mikel Welch

Surrounded by saturated hues in the house, Welch wanted to create a “palette cleanser” when it came to this family room area. And this ultrasleek space does exactly that. With its warm whitewashed walls (Swiss Coffee by Benjamin Moore) and burl-wood-bowl olive tree from Briggs & Co., this room is a tranquil breath of fresh air in the house. Ripple-fold drapery and hardware is from The Shade Store.
