Russian Actress Kamilla Belyatskaya Dies in Wave Accident on Thai Island

Tragic incident occurred during yoga session at Koh Samui's Lad Ko Viewpoint
Russian actress Kamilla Belyatskaya, aged 24, tragically died after being swept away by a giant wave while practicing yoga on a beach at Koh Samui Island, Thailand.

The incident happened during her vacation with her boyfriend.

A widely circulated video captured her meditating when a sudden wave pulled her into the sea.

Despite a bystander’s rescue attempt, Ms. Belyatskaya could not be saved, and her body was later found several kilometers from the original site of the incident.

Known for her love of the location, she often referred to it as her 'home' and 'the best place on earth' on social media.

On the day of the incident, she traveled to Lad Ko Viewpoint in a red car, carrying a pink foam mat to the rocks.

This mat was later seen in the water.

Rescue teams, arriving within 15 minutes, were hindered by the intense conditions.

Chaiyaporn Subprasert, head of Samui Rescue Centre, noted existing beach warning systems, especially during monsoon season, and explained that while Lad Ko is a viewpoint, unexpected wave surges can pose hidden dangers.
