Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Tuesday that the Ukrainian military had successfully conducted its first test of a domestically produced ballistic missile.
This development comes amid two nights of intense Russian bombardments across Ukraine, which resulted in casualties and significant damage to energy infrastructure.
President Zelensky praised the achievement of Ukraine's defense industry but refrained from providing further details about the missile.
This test marks a significant step in Ukraine's efforts to boost its arms industry and reduce reliance on Western military aid.
Recently, Ukraine also deployed in combat a long-range 'rocket drone' named Palianytsia.
Additionally, Kyiv has entered into agreements with Western arms companies for the production of small arms and ammunition.
