Slovak Prime Minister Shooting Suspect Identified as 71-Year-Old Writer
A 71-year-old writer from the town of Levice has been detained for the shooting of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, who is currently in critical condition. Interior Minister Matus Sutaj Estok confirmed the suspect's identity. The suspect has been politically active and is a member of the DUHA Literary Club and the Association of Slovak Writers.

The suspect, linked to the DUHA Literary Club and the Association of Slovak Writers, has written three poetry collections.
Following the incident, Fico is reportedly fighting for his life.
The suspect’s son expressed shock and noted that his father was a legally registered gun owner who did not support Fico politically.
The suspect has a history of making political statements online and had founded a local “Movement Against Violence” in Levice.
