Replace Your Antivirus Software Immediately If You're Using This One
An extensive testing session involving 16 antivirus programs was carried out by AV-Comparatives, a testing lab focused on evaluating the efficacy of various software in providing protection against cyber threats.
The aim was to ascertain how each software performs in terms of safeguarding computers.
Experts in cybersecurity simulated real-life scenarios to test how the most popular antivirus solutions fared on the Windows operating system.
During trials conducted with the February-March virus databases, four programs Avast, AVG, F-Secure, and Kaspersky stood out by not allowing a single malicious file through. However, while the first two programs each produced seven false positives and F-Secure seven, Kaspersky emerged as the only antivirus solution in the lineup not to make a single mistake.
A notable underperformer was Quick Heal, which failed to detect 6.5 percent of the viruses during the tests. Users are advised to consider replacing this antivirus program with a more reliable alternative.
