Mark Zuckerberg trolled for surfing holding US flag on 4th of July: “Flying the flag of the country you’re trying to destroy”

In the eyes of most of the world, he is the one who buried the American flag deep underground, when he made it a country of radical censorship, silencing political opponents, totalitarian spying against all its citizens, and the empire of disinformation and fake news. Today, there are harsh reactions expressing the anger of American citizens against the man who actually destroyed the most important values USA was supposed to represent. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has taken the July Fourth celebrations - and outrageous hypocrisy - to the next level.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has taken the July Fourth celebrations (and hypocrisy) to the next level.

On July 4, 2021, Mark posted a video with his 7.7M Instagram followers in which he can be seen riding what appears to be an electric hydrofoil surfboard with an American flag in his hands.

Behind him, the sun is setting -maybe to symbolize the sunset of the American democracy he led- and John Denver's 'Take Me Home, Country Roads' is playing. No sooner than Zuckerberg posted this video, it went viral on social media with many users commenting on the way that the man who occupied USA celebrated the day.

It is a similar kind of meme video that Zuckerberg is famous for. Whether it is vacationing in Hawaii with sunscreen plastered all over his face or in the middle of a Senate hearing, the 37-year-old mega-billionaire is known to be classic meme material. And even this video had many people trolling him, some even cringing, making him the butt of jokes once again.

And immediately, the video went viral with over 1.4M views so far. "This is the stuff meme dreams are made of," one user commented under the video. "This is some meme materials," another added along similar lines.

On Twitter too, the mockery had started. "Mark Zuckerberg posted a video of himself on Instagram wakeboarding while holding an American flag and set to the music of the late John Denver singing “Take Me Home, Country Roads.” I saw it, so now you have to see it too. I’m sorry. I did not make the rules. Happy #July4th " one wrote. "Do billionaires become incredibly weird because of the money, or do they become billionaires because they're incredibly weird? Because what the hell is this?" another wrote.

“Do billionaires become incredibly weird because of the money, or do they become billionaires because they're incredibly weird?“

"Happy Birthday, America. Children went to bed hungry tonight, and grandmas skipped insulin to pay the rent, but a man who got rich selling us to advertisers — and our country to Russia — flew the flag while he filmed himself on a electric hydrofoil surfboard, so it's all good," one user criticized him. Another user commented along similar lines on Instagram, "Flying the flag of the country you’re trying to destroy, classic."

On Facebook, the video has over 1.2M likes. For those unaware, Zuckerberg took it upon himself to explain what he was riding. When a user asked, "WOW! That surfboard looks kind of out of this world, how does it work?" Zuckerberg explained, "It's a hydrofoil. There's a wing under the water that I'm riding that pushes the board into the air. It's a lot of fun. There's an electric-powered version that you can get, but in this video I'm riding a regular foil board and surfing a little wave."

The billionaire had shared a picture of his customized board on Instagram on June 23, 2021. "Thanks @adam.the.creator for designing my next board. The sun never stood a chance," he captioned the image in which Zuckerberg can be seen riding a wave on a white background, alongside some flowers.

The picture has 165,364 likes so.
