ITM: Empowering SMEs a key issue of innovation ecosystem
The empowerment of SMEs is a central issue in the Hungarian innovation ecosystem, and one of the key elements of this is to provide them with the right information, Tibor Gulyás, Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of Innovation and Technology (ITM), stressed on Friday at the launch event of the new module of the Budapest Institute of Banking's (BiB) E-KKV (E-SME ) online free-of-charge training in Budapest.
He added that the free training includes online content through which companies can access the information they need to do business, helping them to change their approach and develop.
The deputy state secretary stressed that SMEs are central players in the development of higher education institutions, so a regional and territorial institutional system is being set up to provide businesses with access to knowledge and services for their activities.
Gulyás recalled that the National Research, Development and Innovation Office (NKFIH) has set up the regional innovation platform (tip) network, which is linked to higher education, and will continue to provide opportunities for SMEs to implement their ideas in the next development cycle.
Gergely Fábián, CEO of BiB Zrt., owned by the National Bank of Hungary, said that the free training is being continuously developed, so far eight modules are available, and now the ninth module on digitalization of sectors will be made available, which will include information for businesses in agriculture, component manufacturing, construction and catering. He indicated that they are also working on a curriculum on sustainability, which will be published soon.
The E-KKV training will be available to businesses on registration and will allow them flexibility in learning the curriculum to suit their own time.
Katalin Sebők, Vice President of the NKFIH, stressed that the E-KKV online platform will also provide businesses with knowledge on innovation that will contribute to their competitiveness. In its application system, the agency encourages businesses to take advantage of the flexible, free-of-charge training opportunities, she added.
