Hungarian Midfielder András Schäfer Suffers Horrific Injury, Bleeding Profusely
Union Berlin, featuring Hungarian international András Schäfer, secured a 1-0 home victory over Wolfsburg in the 21st round of the German football league.
Schäfer emerged as one of the heroes of the match, playing for an hour despite suffering a severe injury early in the game.
In the 11th minute of the encounter, Schäfer clashed heads with Lovro Majer, the Croatian World Cup bronze medalist midfielder from Wolfsburg, resulting in both players bleeding profusely.
Following the horrific injury, medical staff rushed onto the field and, fortunately, were able to stop the bleeding for both players, avoiding the need for any substitutions.
After the match, András Schäfer shared an image on his social media revealing that his forehead required stitches.
