The Hungarian National Investigation Office (Nemzeti Nyomozó Iroda) has begun formal proceedings involving Magyar Péter, who has been interrogated as a witness regarding multiple allegations.

Magyar reported on his social media that he spent part of his day at the investigatory office, emphasizing his current status as merely a witness, though he later indicated that he had also been identified as a victim in the case concerning Vogel Evelin, who is accused of extortion.

In a subsequent comment, Magyar noted that the authorities have made limited progress, citing a four-month delay since his initial denunciation regarding allegations involving a leaked and falsified police report and an emergency medical service case record.

He expressed frustration that, despite repeated filings since July of the previous year, no developments had occurred in those cases.

Three hours after his initial post, Magyar elaborated on his experience during the interrogation.

He alleged that investigators avoided critical inquiries related to the agreements between the ruling Fidesz party and Vogel Evelin.

Instead, he claimed they posed 15 unrelated questions purportedly to fill documentation requirements.

He also alleged that investigations into his other complaints had not yet commenced, concluding his remarks with a message directed at the police and prosecution, stating that professional oversight would soon be assigned to the investigations and that these should not be conducted based on political directives.

Magyar Péter formally filed a complaint against Vogel Evelin at the Budapest Police Headquarters, citing extortion.

This conflict surfaced publicly when Vogel Evelin provided an exclusive interview to a media outlet, sharing insights into their troubled relationship.

In her statements, she characterized Magyar as not being who he appeared to be and cited doubts about his bravery, describing him as someone who had risked everything.

Vogel further speculated on Magyar Péter's motivations, claiming that he intended to expose her for personal retribution.

Magyar has denied the allegations leveled against him, asserting that the interview with Vogel was orchestrated at the behest of a prominent political figure.

He previously stated that Vogel had recorded conversations between them and used these recordings as leverage against him.

During their last private meeting, Magyar indicated to Vogel that he was far from considering legal actions, inviting her to speak up should Fidesz's assistance extend beyond financial incentives or if she felt coerced in any capacity, assuring her that he would endeavor to provide support.
