Former State Secretary Appointed as Chairman of GYSEV's Board Among Majority Hungarian Ownership Changes

Mosóczi László takes leadership role as Hungary secures a two-thirds stake in the Austrian-Hungarian railway company GYSEV.
The Hungarian government has completed a restructuring of the GYSEV railway company's leadership following its acquisition of a two-thirds majority stake in the formerly Austrian-Hungarian owned company.

As of January 1st, Mosóczi László, previously the CEO of MÁV-START and a former state secretary for transportation policy, has been appointed as the chairman of GYSEV's board.

Additionally, Hegyi Zsolt, the CEO of MÁV Zrt.

and leader of the MÁV group, has been elected as a member of the board.

Hegyi Zsolt commented in a statement released by MÁV that the appointment of two experts from the MÁV group to GYSEV's board in the current year could contribute to strengthening and enhancing the cooperation between the two railway companies.

At a press conference in early January, János Lázár, Hungary's Minister of Construction and Transport, indicated that GYSEV Zrt.

would be taking on a significant role in rail transportation in North Transdanubia.

This includes both the operation of the rail network and the provision of public passenger transportation services.
