The executive director of Fidesz, Gábor Kubatov, has taken a slight jab at the opposition while discussing Hungarian political figures.
Character should not be defined by a single flawed decision, but rather by the willingness to take responsibility and confront one's actions head-on. Katalin Novák and Judit Varga, who I've had the privilege to know, are individuals dedicated to serving our nation, with a relentless and humble approach to their work," Gábor Kubatov, the vice president and executive director of Fidesz, expressed on
Facebook concerning the departure of the two politicians.
Kubatov continued by saying that "integrity and honor compelled them to apologize for their mistakes and resign from their public positions." Following this, he echoed Máté Kocsis's sentiment that on the "national side" actions have consequences, whereas on the left side they do not, because "Ferenc Gyurcsány, who once turned on his own citizens in 2006, is still steering the ship." (Kubatov did not address why Gyurcsány had not been held accountable during the 14 years Fidesz has been in power.)
"I believe that, despite their mistakes, Katalin Novák and Judit Varga have done more for our country and Hungarian people in recent years than the entire Hungarian left has done since the political changes of our post-regime history," concluded Gábor Kubatov with these thoughts.
