In a case involving the fatality of a Japanese woman, five police officers have been subjected to disciplinary proceedings as initiated by the National Police Headquarters (ORFK).

The victim had previously filed a report concerning threats from her ex-husband, which was ultimately dismissed by the officers involved.

In light of the recent developments, the ORFK has mandated a review of all rejection decisions relating to domestic violence reports made in the past year.

According to the Budapest Police Headquarters (BRFK), an internal investigation is currently underway, with results anticipated next week.

Separately, András Somos, a television host, announced the suspension of his television activities to avoid burdening ATV with his presence during this ongoing matter.

In a statement, Somos expressed that his serious error during the morning broadcast distanced him from the critical victim protection efforts and the instinctive solidarity felt towards victims of violence.

Following this incident, Somos was removed from the ATV network while the disciplinary procedures are pending.

Additionally, the Hungarian Football Association (MLSZ) has launched disciplinary proceedings against several individuals, including Géza Mészöly, due to a series of incidents in Hungarian football recently related to allegations of racism.
