Czech inflation rises for 5th month in November

The Czech consumer price inflation accelerated for the fifth month in a row in November, data from the Prague-based Czech Statistical Office (CZSO) revealed on Friday.
Consumer price inflation rose to 6.0% in November from 5.8% in October.

This acceleration of price growth came mainly from higher prices in transport. Cost for transport increased by 13.5% year-on-year in November following the 11.6% gain in October.

Meantime, prices of goods in total and services went up 5% and 7.5%, respectively. In addition, prices for clothing and footwear added 12.4%, cost for health grow by 3.8% and prices for recreation and culture went up by 5.4%.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices gained 0.2% in November, while economists had expected a rise of 0.8%.
