Colour is key for Hayley Pannekoecke of Kip & Co

Australian brand Kip & Co is known for bold colour, so it's no surprise that the home of co-founder Hayley Pannekoecke features lovely colour choices.

Australian lifestyle brand Kip & Co is known for embracing bold colour, so it’s no surprise that the home of co-founder Hayley Pannekoecke and her family also features lovely, confident colour choices. Hayley and her husband James purchased the small house on the Bellarine Peninsula in Victoria and set about building a soulful modern home for themselves and their three children.

Hayley Pannekoecke, husband James and their children enjoy the large kitchen, which has a stunning herringbone timber floor and splashes of various shades of pink.

The exterior of the house is clad in timber and a scattering of round windows.

Warm wood is a feature of both the interior and exterior of the house. Windows and doors are framed in timber, and exposed beams create a linear structure which visually unifies the rooms.

Hayley’s house naturally showcases Kip & Co’s range including of course, their trademark tassel throws, together with cushions, rugs and bed linen.

The bedroom is all about layered textiles with a palette featuring olive, mustard, tangerine, mulberry, blush and other shades of pink.

Chloe’s bedroom and ensuite are feminine but not overly girlie – perfect for transitioning into a teen retreat.

Hayley and James’s home has a pitched roof which allows for a stunning all white guest loft space with exposed beams. Perfect for a hanging chair!

Colour isn’t restricted to rugs, furniture and textiles, walls throughout the house are painted in hues from violet to blush and blue.

The sunny eating nook features built in banquette seating, soft pink walls and a still life painting by Sam Michelle.

Hayley has expertly created interiors that show how a family home can be contemporary yet timeless, colourful yet not over the top, and above all very liveable. The style is beautifully curated and slightly eclectic – leading rather than slavishly following trends. The overall vibe is relaxed, warm and welcoming… just as a family home should be.
