An emergency situation arose on Tuesday morning at a kindergarten in Karancsság, Hungary, when a carbon monoxide detector in the kitchen signaled the presence of the poisonous gas.

Firefighters who responded confirmed the existence of carbon monoxide through measurements, necessitating the evacuation of seven adults from the building.

Thanks to the prompt action of emergency responders, no injuries were reported.

The detector in question emitted a loud alarm in the kitchen of the institution, prompting officials to take immediate action.

According to reports, the incident occurred at the kindergarten located on Kossuth Street.

Juhász László, head of the Nógrád County Disaster Management Directorate, confirmed that seven adults were inside the kitchen when the alarm sounded and were subsequently evacuated by the first responders.

Both professional firefighters from Szécsény and members of the Kisherceg Volunteer Firefighters Association attended the scene.

After conducting thorough measurements to assess the level of gas present, they commenced the immediate evacuation of the individuals at risk.

Following the assessment, the gas service provider disconnected the building from the gas network until further inspections can be carried out.

Authorities have assured that there were no injuries resulting from the incident.
