Slovakia’s Bratislava Airport was evacuated following an anonymous bomb threat on Wednesday. The police have taken measures including evacuations and pyrotechnic inspections, although arrivals continue with passengers remaining on their planes. The airport, which handled over one point eight million passengers last year, halted departures indefinitely pending further instructions.
Slovakia's Bratislava Airport, formally known as M.R. Stefanik Airport, experienced an evacuation on Wednesday after receiving an anonymous bomb threat.
The local police quickly initiated necessary protocols, including evacuating individuals and conducting a pyrotechnic inspection.
While arrivals were not suspended, passengers on incoming flights were required to stay on their planes until further notice.
The evacuation commenced at 8:40 a.m. local time, and departures were halted pending police instructions.
Bratislava Airport, the largest international hub in Slovakia located 9 km from the city center, managed over 1.8 million passengers in the previous year.
