95-Year-Old Australian Woman Dies After Being Tasered by Police Officer in Nursing Home
An 95-year-old Australian woman named Clare Nowland died on Wednesday, a week after being tasered by a police officer inside her nursing home.
Nowland had been in critical condition in the hospital since the incident, which took place on May 17.
The officer who tasered her was charged with recklessly causing grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and common assault.
The incident has led to calls for police reform in Australia, with some calling for the release of police bodycam video of the confrontation.
