Tragic Parental Conflict Ends in Fatality in Nagykőrös

A father is killed by his son in the Hungarian town, leading to an ongoing police investigation.
In a tragic incident, a man in Nagykőrös, Hungary, has killed his father, leading to significant police actions.

Reports indicate that the son inflicted a fatal stab wound to his father's thigh, resulting in the father's death from blood loss.

Following the incident, the son voluntarily surrendered to local authorities, expressing remorse.

The victim’s body was discovered on Tuesday.

According to sources from the Pest County Police Headquarters, a homicide investigation has been initiated under the charge of inflicting fatal bodily harm, with the suspect voluntarily presenting himself at the police station.

Dominik Szekeres, a spokesperson for the police, confirmed that the man was taken into custody, and a request for his detention has been submitted.

The spokesperson for the Pest County Chief Prosecutor’s Office, József Levente Nisóczi, stated that the suspect has admitted to the crime.

However, despite the investigators' request for the man’s detention, the prosecutor's office determined that the circumstances did not warrant the imposition of detention, thus no motion for his arrest was filed.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident in Vienna, Austria, police responded to a bomb threat at the Technical University of Vienna on Thursday morning.

A man reportedly threw a package into a building and shouted that it would explode.

Police arrived at the scene in force.

The university building was evacuated, and bomb detection dogs were deployed to inspect the package.

Later reports confirmed that the package contained no explosives and that safety measures had been lifted.

This incident occurred during a nationwide period of mourning in Austria following a deadly school shooting in Graz, where a 21-year-old perpetrator had committed an act of violence, resulting in ten fatalities and numerous injuries.

In another development, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) engaged in major military action against Iranian targets.

On June 14, 2025, the IDF released a statement indicating that they had eliminated high-ranking Iranian military leaders, including those featured in an Iranian propaganda video.

The IDF conducted extensive airstrikes on approximately one hundred targets, marking one of the largest military offensives in the region.

This operation reportedly aimed at both Iranian nuclear facilities and military commanders, contributing to heightened tensions between Israel and Iran.
