Turkey Removed from Financial Watchdog's Grey List
Turkey, initially grey-listed by the FATF in 2021 for financial concerns, is now off the list. The Finance Ministry highlighted targeted actions that bolstered international confidence. Turkish Vice President pointed out the notable positive effects on the financial and real sectors.
Turkey, having been placed on the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list in 2021 due to concerns about money laundering and terrorist financing, has now been removed from that list.
The Finance and Treasury Ministry of Turkey announced this development.
The Ministry stated that this outcome resulted from significant steps taken in the right direction and will further strengthen international investors' confidence in Turkey's financial system.
Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz also emphasized the positive impact of this decision on both the financial and real sectors.
Enhancements to the administrative and technical capabilities of the Financial Crimes Investigation Board and other institutions will be implemented to maintain this progress.
