Szigetvári's Estratos Digital reportedly linked to Facebook pages promoting politically biased content during the electoral campaign.
Polish media has accused Viktor Szigetvári’s company, Estratos Digital, formerly known as Datadat, of involving itself in foreign interference in the Polish presidential elections.
Reports suggest that Estratos Digital is connected to two
Facebook pages that promoted videos aimed at influencing voters, with significant financial backing cited in hundreds of thousands of zlotys.
The two
Facebook pages, created in late March, are titled "Wiesz Jak Nie Jest" (translated: "You Know It’s Not Like That") and "Stół Dorosłych" (translated: "Adults’ Table").
According to Polish publications, these pages have only a combined total of 422 followers.
The administrators of these accounts are reportedly unknown, and the associated websites feature false addresses, with uncontactable phone numbers listed.
On these pages, videos surfaced featuring individuals purportedly discussing Polish presidential candidates.
The content has been heavily critical of candidates from the main Polish opposition party, including Karol Nawrocki from the ruling populist right-wing Law and Justice party, and Slawomir Mentzen from the far-right Confederation party.
Alternatively, some videos praised Rafał Trzaskowski, the mayor of Warsaw and candidate from the largest party in the governing coalition, the Civic Platform led by Donald Tusk.
Polish media asserts that these videos, disseminated with foreign support, violate Polish laws.
Reports indicate that the implicated accounts spent approximately 460,000 zlotys (equivalent to about 43.5 million forints) on promoting the videos, exceeding the campaign expenditures of any official candidate.
Telex reached out to Viktor Szigetvári, the CEO of Estratos Digital, for commentary on these allegations.
He stated, "Our Austrian company has many clients in Poland, and we perform various jobs in accordance with the relevant regulations," while adding, "beyond that, we do not wish to comment on the reports."
Szigetvári further mentioned that he is not aware of any connection between Estratos and the videos appearing on the
Facebook pages.
The Polish newspaper WP reports that Estratos Digital is registered in Vienna with Szigetvári as the managing director.
Before this role, Szigetvári was a prime ministerial candidate for the Hungarian party Együtt and previously served as chief of staff to Gordon Bajnai.
The company Datadat, under which it was formerly known, had Adam Ficsor, a former Minister of Secret Services under Bajnai, as one of its leaders.
