Physical Education Teacher Arrested for Sexual Harassment of 13-Year-Old Student in Hungary

A 40-year-old teacher allegedly molested a student over several months, leading to police intervention and his subsequent arrest.
A 40-year-old physical education teacher in Püspökhatvan, Hungary, has been accused of sexually harassing a 13-year-old female student.

According to reports, the student collapsed at school and confided in a friend that the teacher had been molesting her for several months.

The friend informed their homeroom teacher, who then alerted the school principal and the girl's parents.

In a statement to media outlets, the girl's mother revealed that she discovered messages in which the teacher had lured her daughter to an abandoned railway station.

The mother recounted that the teacher first hugged and kissed the girl, proceeded to touch her inappropriately, and continued his advances despite her discomfort.

The child expressed her fear of attending the encounter, stating that she was concerned about her parents' reaction, to which the teacher allegedly responded that there would be no problem as it was just a casual outing.

Furthermore, it was disclosed that the teacher requested intimate photos of the girl, claiming, "this excites me," subsequently sending her an explicit image.

The girl's father confronted the teacher, who denied the allegations, asserting that the girl was infatuated with him, but claimed nothing inappropriate occurred.

Reports indicate that police took the teacher into custody at the school on the same day the allegations were made.

The teacher is a father of multiple children, with his eldest daughter being the same age as the victim.

Law enforcement authorities found several explicit images of minors on the teacher's device during the investigation.

He faces charges of sexual assault, indecent exposure, and child pornography, with his arrest ordered by the Budakörnyéki District Court as of June 16, 2025. The court expressed concerns that the teacher might flee if released and noted the potential for reoffending.

During his hearing, the teacher partially admitted to the offenses, contending that his actions were at the request of the girl.

His detention has been legally sanctioned, though it remains non-final as the accused and his legal representation have filed an appeal against the court's decision.
