OTP Bank Extends Transition Period for OTPdirekt Users

Customers are given additional time to switch from the older OTPdirekt platform to the newly available banking services.
In response to customer needs, OTP Bank has announced an extension of the OTPdirekt internet banking service usage period.

This decision aims to provide additional time for clients who have yet to transition to the new internet banking platform.

OTP Bank continues to offer banking services through multiple platforms to accommodate its clientele.

According to customer feedback, while many clients utilize bank branches for more complex banking services, the trend towards digital banking remains significant.

Millions of customers are now using mobile banking and the new internet banking service for their banking needs.

As a result, the bank considers it essential to phase out the previously used OTPdirekt service in alignment with customer requirements.

The bank has indicated that it will notify customers about the exact timeline for the transition in due course, expected by the end of 2025.

In its official communication, OTP Bank noted that both OTP MobilBank and the new internet banking platform have been available for several years and may be used in conjunction with the older OTPdirekt service.

A substantial portion of customers is already utilizing the newer services, although a minority still manage their finances through OTPdirekt on their computers.

The bank emphasized that customers who are already using either the mobile bank or the new internet banking platform do not need to take any action regarding the transition.

Further details about the exact date for the phase-out of the OTPdirekt service will be communicated later, with indications pointing towards completion by the conclusion of 2025.

Péter Vouszka, the head of service development for digital channels at OTP Bank, stated, "By extending the transition period, we are adapting to the needs of our customers who have not yet transitioned.

We encourage them to switch to OTP MobilBank and InternetBank, as it is anticipated that by the end of 2025, only the new platforms will be available to residential customers." The transition to the new services can be easily completed online, with additional information available on the bank's website.
