Prime Minister Viktor Orbán is rallying his party for a show of strength, while Peter Magyar makes a splash in the political arena as he unfurls his flag.

Let’s take a look at the events lined up in Budapest:

* The day starts online with Klára Dobrev of the Democratic Coalition giving a celebratory speech on the party's Facebook page at 7:30 AM.

* Live events follow, beginning at 9:00 AM with Ágnes Kunhalmi, co-chair of the Hungarian Socialist Party, and István Hiller, the chairman of the board, holding a commemoration at March 15th Square. Additionally, Kunhalmi will lay a wreath at Teleki Blanka's memorial plaque at 3 Szabadság Square with Katá Tüttő, head of the European Parliament list, at 1:00 PM.

* At 10:00 AM, JOBBIK and LMP will hold separate remembrance ceremonies. From JOBBIK, President and MEP Márton Gyöngyösi, Vice President Anita Potocskáné Kőrösi, and mayoral candidate Koloman Brenner will speak at the Batthyány Eternal Flame. For LMP, co-chair Péter Ungár will pay tribute and lay a wreath at the Gábor Áron monument in the 2nd district.

* At 10:30 AM, VIKTOR ORBÁN will speak at the National Museum, marking his first speech there in several years. After speeches in the countryside in 2023, and previously at Kossuth Square in 2022, the pandemic halted such events in 2021 and 2020. Orbán's address comes just 18 hours after the long-awaited announcement of Fidesz's mayoral candidate, Alexandra Szentkirályi, who will challenge incumbent Gergely Karácsony and likely David Vitézy, although the latter has yet to decide whether to run as LMP's candidate. Temporary surveillance cameras have been set up at the venue, and Fidesz has been recruiting spectators via SMS. There will be no Peace March this time.

* At 2:00 PM, the TWO-TAILED DOG PARTY will hold its commemorative event on Szabadság Bridge in collaboration with the Tanítanék Movement, which is unsurprising given that the dismissed teacher Katalin Törley, founder of the movement, is second on the Dog Party's EP list.

* Concurrently at 3:00 PM, two events commence: PÉTER MAGYAR, who is in the midst of trying to organize a party to form a third force between Fidesz and what he perceives as the Gyurcsány-centered opposition, will unveil his flag on Andrássy Avenue,

* and OUR HOMELAND's gathering will take place in Pilvax Alley, featuring speakers including László Toroczkai, Dóra Dúró, and their mayoral candidate, András Grundtner.

* Gergely Karácsony has joined civilian groups, so at 5:00 PM, demonstrations will be held on Szabad sajtó Avenue with National Common Will, Unified Student Front, ADOM, and Fridays for Future. The speaker lineup includes Zoltán Ádám, a former associate professor at Corvinus University who initiated an examination scandal, and a video message from Julija Navalnaja, widow of Alexei Navalny, will be shown. The Socialist Party and Dialogue for Hungary will also be joining.

Additionally, the Parliament House will be open to the public, independent of party affiliation, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, where visitors can view the Grand Staircase, Dome Hall, and the Holy Crown.

Due to the day's events, Erzsébet Bridge will be closed all day, and Szabadság Bridge in the afternoon. Road closures will also be in effect in the morning along the route of Kossuth Lajos Square, Alkotmány Street, Bajcsy, Zsilinszky ,Road Károly, Boulevard Museum Boulevard, Kálvin Square, and throughout the day on the inner section of Andrássy Avenue. Budapest's public transportation will operate on the Sunday and holiday schedule, though service may be impacted by the closures.
