Hungarian Postal Service Introduces Unique Lottery Outlets

The Hungarian National Lottery Company, Szerencsejáték Zrt., in collaboration with the Hungarian Postal Service, Magyar Posta Zrt., launches an innovative network of lottery outlets, known as "Posta Lottózó", across the country.
In an unprecedented move, Szerencsejáték Zrt. and Magyar Posta Zrt. have announced the opening of TWENTY NEW LOTTERY OUTLETS nationwide, with the inauguration of the FIRST OUTLET taking place in Nyíregyháza on Wednesday.

The grand opening of the lottery outlet, located within the city's largest postal building, was spearheaded by Andrea Mager, the President and CEO of Szerencsejáték Zrt. Mager emphasized that the new sales venues are being established in the twenty busiest post offices across the country. Customers can access lottery products in a SEPARATE POSTAL ROOM without the need to wait in the usual postal queues.

Traditionally, the Postal Service has been strong in the sales of number draw games and scratch cards. With the introduction of these new types of lottery outlets, the sales of sports betting are also expected to rise, stated the national lottery company's leader.

During the event, Barnabás Balczó, President and CEO of Magyar Posta Zrt., highlighted that the company embarked on a new strategy last year. Besides traditional postal services, it expanded its postal partner program, broadened its financial intermediation activities, and began offering a range of other financial products and services to its customers, reports MTI.

According to the plans of both companies, of the NEW SALES LOCATIONS opening in former postal shops, NINE WILL BE LAUNCHED THIS YEAR, with the rest scheduled for NEXT YEAR.

At the event, the leaders of the state-owned companies also signed a strategic partnership agreement. Besides the launch of the Posta Lottózó outlets, the agreement includes support for the competitiveness of rural enterprises, development of lottery sales technology, establishment of a modern visual identity, and advanced training for postal sales personnel.
