German National Marcel J. Sentenced to Three Years in Prison for Pro-Russian Views and Illegal Weapon Possession
A German national named Marcel J. has been sentenced to three years in prison for supporting Russia in the Ukraine conflict and possessing an illegal weapon.
He ran a pro-Russian Telegram channel and shared pro-Russian ideas, including branding Ukraine a terrorist state and using the 'Z' symbol associated with Moscow's military operation in the country.
Marcel J. was also found in possession of an illegally large knife.
His co-defendant received only six months in jail.
The lengthy sentence for Marcel J. was due to his previous criminal record and recent conviction for assaulting a reporter.
The two convictions will be combined as required by German law.
