Hungarian Minister of Economic Development outlines ambitions for stronger economic relations and direct air links with the U.S.
Nagy Márton, Hungary's Minister of Economic Development, recently addressed the potential for revitalizing Hungarian-American relations in an interview with a U.S. media outlet.
He suggested that the re-election of
Donald Trump could usher in a new era for collaboration between the two nations.
In his comments, Márton expressed a goal for the United States to become one of Hungary's top three foreign investors.
He emphasized that achieving this status could lead to increased investments and numerous new job opportunities within Hungary.
Currently, American companies are said to employ tens of thousands of families in the country, and Márton noted that new avenues for economic cooperation could emerge under a Trump administration.
Márton also highlighted the possibility of enhancing trade between Hungary and the United States, suggesting that current relations could escalate to a higher level, thus significantly benefiting both economies.
Furthermore, he indicated efforts to re-establish direct air connections between Hungary and the U.S., aiming to facilitate travel and bolster both economic and tourism ties.
On matters concerning peace, Márton stated that the previous U.S. administration contributed positively towards fostering peace and economic security, remarking that discussions to further these objectives have already commenced.
He outlined that peace encompasses both physical and economic security for nations.
