Former Member of Parliament, László Molnár, Passes Away at 67
After a long illness, László Molnár, a former parliamentary representative, has died in his 67th year of life.
Born on August 22, 1957, in Békéscsaba, László Molnár completed his primary and secondary education in his hometown. Originally qualified as an automobile bodywork locksmith, he also played football for Előre Spartacus SC from 1967 to 1981.
Molnár began his political career in 1978 and was among the founders of the Hungarian Socialist Party in 1989. He earned a sports management diploma from the University of Physical Education in 1991. In 1993, he graduated from the University of Economics in entrepreneurial management, and in 2001, he received a legal and entrepreneurial management qualification from the Janus Pannonius University.
From 1998 to 2002, Molnár served as a member of the Békés County Government. He was first elected as a Member of Parliament in 2002. Between 2004 and 2006, he worked as the deputy leader of the MSZP faction. He was re-elected as the representative of the Békéscsaba-centered constituency in the National Assembly from 2006 to 2010, where he participated in the work of several committees.
