Fall semester of V4 Startup Force begins

In the fall semester of the Design Terminal's startup fellowship program, four teams have the opportunity to build business relationships with large companies and thus expand their businesses to the Visegrád countries, according to a press release sent to the Budapest Business Journal.

The teams selected for the V4 Startup Force: are BioMinds from Poland, Airlogy Labs from Slovakia, Onsinch from the Czech Republic and Munch from Hungary. The teams will have the opportunity to participate in workshops and inspirational events, as well as corporate matchmaking over the next three weeks.

On the Hungarian side, the program has been joined as a corporate partner by companies such as Deloitte Hungary, Egis Gyógyszergyár Zrt, MOL, Roche Hungary and Vodafone Hungary. One of the primary objectives of the program is to support startups and their expansion between countries at regional level.

The four shortlisted teams have embarked on a virtual business development tour starting this week, with Hungary as the first stop. The Czech Republic and Slovakia will host the next phase, before concluding in Poland on October 28. At each stop, teams will gain country-specific business knowledge and contacts.

The professional partners of the Design Terminal are once again the Czech DEX-IC, the Polish ReaktorX Warsaw and the Slovak CAMPUS. The program was launched by the innovation agency in 2018 and the International Visegrád Fund has been a supporter of the initiative since the launch.

Over the past years, more than 200 startups have applied, more than 40 of them have been selected and more than 100 business meetings have been organized with the hope of creating a strong Visegrád entrepreneurial community.

Connecting small businesses with major corporations

As in the previous semester, the Design Terminal provided 17 businesses with knowledge and contacts during the selection process. During the five days, startups that were not later selected for the program were also able to participate in workshops and networking events. And the Demo Day at the end of the camp gave them the chance to showcase their work in front of expert mentors.
