The unfortunate incident occurred in a local plaza, where the teenager fainted and also suffered a head injury as he spotted the awaited rendezvous.

Paramedics were called to the scene, and it was revealed that the boy had been so nervous about the date for the past three days that he had hardly eaten anything.

Fortunately, the story had a happy ending. Although the carefully selected roses were broken, and the boy's clothes bore the traces of the fainting episode, the date was not thwarted but merely relocated:

"Our colleagues coordinated with the dispatch center and were granted permission to transport the accompanying person, so our hero Don Juan, in stable condition and in the company of his love, was taken to the hospital," reads the statement from the ambulance service.

The long-anticipated encounter that turned into a medical emergency didn't stop the young couple from continuing their date, as the National Ambulance Service made sure the love-struck patient reached the hospital safely, with his date by his side. The teen's health scare proved that sometimes love can truly sweep you off your feet.
