Balázs Keserű: I Have Someone by My Side Who Sees Me Not Just as the Winner of The Dream Job

From the very beginning, Balázs Keserű took his joint work with Levente Balogh seriously.
Perhaps even too seriously "After the victory, my life turned upside down, and not necessarily due to the amount of work, because I worked hard even before The Dream Job, but my quality of life, mentality, perspective, and how I work, that all changed completely. Of course, there were kind comments that the show was rigged, and that it wasn’t a real job. To reassure everyone: yes, it is a real job, and I applied for the show on my own. Since working with Levente, I had less time for family and friends. For the first 5-6 months, I really wanted to prove myself, see what he expected of me, what he wanted, and I also needed time to accept that one cannot physically endure constant work, I need rest too. It was after seven months that I had my first free Sunday, but before anyone thinks this, Levente never asked this of me. I was the one always looking for tasks, wanting to measure up, always saying: what you can do today, do not put off until tomorrow. Then, when I recognized that I needed rest, my family, and my friends saw me more. At the end of last year, there was a positive change in my personal life, I entered into a relationship, and I have someone by my side who sees me not just as the winner of The Dream Job but as the real Balázs Keserű. I had to feel out who was genuinely interested in me, and who was only interested in my fame."

"I WAS ALWAYS MYSELF"

According to Balázs, anyone who wins the second series needs to buckle up. No one knows better than him what awaits the winner. “The real challenge actually began where the show ended, and in hindsight, The Dream Job was just a mild competition compared to what started in reality. Levente never dictated my working hours, never commented on when I came in or how long I stayed. Yet, I worked a lot,” says Balázs. “The biggest secret is that there is no secret. Throughout the entire show, I was myself, I didn’t try to play a role. If I had presented myself differently, it wouldn’t have been productive. It would have come out eventually. However, I got the job because Levente saw that I truly fit here. If someone makes it to the end of the competition but doesn’t win, it simply means this isn’t their path, and I think there’s nothing wrong with that. So, in my opinion, honesty is the most effective approach.”

PLANNING TO RETIRE HERE

The boss-employee relationship between Balázs and Balogh Levente has also changed. “We've become closer to each other through real, joint work with Levente,” says Balázs. “Of course, along with this closeness comes respect, and there’s still an appropriate distance between us, but we spend a lot of time together. Just as in any relationship where cohabitation reveals true nature, it’s similar at work where professional relationships are built over time. Earlier, I said I would like to retire from working with Levente, and I still feel the same way today.”
