Australia has proposed a new bill that may levy fines of up to 5 percent of Elon Musk’s TwitterX global revenue, which could amount to hundreds of millions of dollars, for not adequately managing the spread of what "their ministry of the truth" might deem as "misinformation"!
It's an excellent idea, but perhaps the Australian government should first apply this principle to itself. They might begin by refunding 5% of their total tax revenue to citizens for misleading them about the Iraq and
Afghanistan wars, the

vaccine's inefficiencies in preventing infection and transmission, and for overlooking the scientifically proven risks of its fatal side effects. Additionally, they should allocate another 5% of their revenue as reparations to the Aboriginal people for the genocide and unlawful occupation of their land. Only then would it be just to hold private entities accountable for something that should have been the government's responsibility: preventing misinformation.
