On Thursday, Endre K., former deputy director who received presidential pardon from the Bicske orphanage, made a public post.
He expressed relief that more people understood the true background of the hysterical reaction to his pardon. He denounced those who lacked knowledge of Christian mercy and the institution of pardon as spiteful and godless, intent on smear campaigns against anyone not supporting their cause. His post has since vanished, as noted by news outlet 444 on Friday morning.
In his latest public statement, Endre K. also claimed that the "obedient media" was spreading negative stories about him even in his native village in Transylvania but insisted the local community would not let this divide them. He also contemplated moving back to Transylvania in response to the media's smear campaign against him.
It's known that the previous director of the Bicske orphanage was convicted of pedophilia. Endre K., who played a role in the cover-up, was also sentenced to prison but was pardoned last year by Katalin Novák. The recent revelation of the case sparked public outrage, leading to Novák's resignation from the presidency and Judit Varga's withdrawal from public life. Zoltán Balog, a Reformed bishop who interceded for Endre K.'s pardon, admitted his mistake but did not step down from his church leadership role. Viktor Orbán last addressed the issue last Thursday, announcing plans to amend the constitution.
