Motorcyclist Crashes in Death Globe at Circus in Győr, Shocks Audience
A performance turned unexpectedly dramatic during the premiere in Győr when a motorcyclist from the Diorios group fell from the highest point of the "death globe." The incident, involving a Brazilian performer, occurred when his motorcycle landed on his leg and head.
The audience and the performers were alarmed by the accident, which was attributed to a malfunction of the motorcycle's brake system.
"We were all very scared, but fortunately, he did not suffer any serious injuries and got away with minor scratches," the Richter Circus stated on their social media platform. They assured that the necessary repairs would be made to the motorcycle's brake system as soon as possible, allowing the popular and globally renowned act to resume.
This is not the first incident of its kind in Hungary in 2023. A similar accident happened during a performance by the Hungarian National Circus on May 18th. A female artist sustained severe injuries while performing in the death globe, a sphere with a diameter of 4.5 meters, which unexpectedly opened during the act. She was ejected from the globe with the motorcycle, crashing to the ground at high speed.
