Fiery Debate Emerges Between Róbert Puzsér and Gergely Huth on Communists and Péter Magyar
The heated discussion between Róbert Puzsér and Gergely Huth began with the conservative conference in Brussels, where Prime Minister Viktor Orbán was among the speakers.
The district mayor attempted to thwart the event, which was attended by police. Gergely Huth described the situation as terribly sad, but a victory for allowing Europe to hear conservative views.
"It's appalling that the neobolshevik communist ideology has resurfaced in the Western world. It was an attempt to intimidate everyone willing to engage with the representatives of normality," stated the editor-in-chief of Pesti Srácok.
Róbert Puzsér joined the conversation stating, "these damned communists, Bolsheviks, are attacking again, it's crucial to steal every public procurement from them."
Following this, Gergely Huth spoke about the bridge-fund scandal, "the communists are back, and if you drop a coin among them, it won't hit the ground because a hand will snatch it."
Róbert Puzsér responded, highlighting the failings in preventing this with a two-thirds majority. "The damned communists hid in the gaps between counties and continue to attack. The rolling dollars escape through the gaps."
"I mean, there was an overzealous district mayor who dispatched the police, and very quickly, on the same day, the Brussels court invalidated the measure he had enacted," Huth added, discussing the brief halt of the conference.
Gergely Huth retorted that three mayors had chased the conference out of their district, instigating police involvement. "If not for the significant press backlash in Europe recognizing the counterproductivity, the event’s second day would have been canceled as well."
Róbert Puzsér criticized Europe's treatment of Putin, suggesting the only option left might be an offensive on Kyiv or financing those who spread Putin's truth. Puzsér, advocating for free speech, believes in the right to express thoughts and feelings, "I don’t think that by a district mayor banning an event for two hours, he demonstrates power. Instead, it shows weakness."
Huth clarified the organizers' stance, noting their distance from Putin's ideologies and highlighting discussions on peace. He warned of the close reality of Europe and NATO deploying troops to Ukraine.
The conversation turned towards the feasibility of similar events in Hungary, with Puzsér nonchalantly responding, "Merry Christmas! Isn’t that a good answer?"
Gergely Huth believes such scenarios are improbable in Hungary, contrasting the pre-2010 era when right-wing initiatives almost operated underground. "Now, left-wing influencers thrive, organize, protest, and dominate significant public discourse, which is rightly so."
Puzsér sarcastically questioned whether it was right for "traitors to dominate the public discourse," to which Huth defended the diverse availability of viewpoints online, affirming Hungary as a favorable place to live.
The debate touched upon the issue of former communists in the government. Puzsér criticized the secrecy pact between Gyurcsány Ferenc and Viktor Orbán regarding agent files, questioning the political involvement of those who were pillars of the dictatorship era. Huth countered by inquiring about the actual existence of communists within the current government.
Despite allegations of communist presence in the government, the debate covered a wide array of topics, including social media censorship, journalistic integrity, and the public persecution of individuals. Both participants pledged the proceeds from the discussion to the Heim Pál Children's Hospital.
